Dayton raises $189,000 in 1st quarter
Gov. Mark Dayton has raised more than $189,000 since the start of the year according to his campaign.
Between last year and this year, Dayton has a little more than $733,000 to spend on his re-election bid.
The campaign isn't saying where Dayton got the money and or how he has spent it so far. Those details will be available tomorrow morning when all candidates, political parties and outside political groups must report their finances to the state.
Last year, Dayton raised about $1 million.
So far, Scott Honour is the only potential Dayton opponent who has released his fundraising numbers. According to his campaign, Honour raised $250,000 in the first quarter with $50,000 coming from his own checking account.
UPDATE: Marty Seifert, who won the GOP gubernatorial straw poll in February, has $139,000 cash on hand at the end of the first quarter, according to his campaign.
