Scott Honour, a Republican candidate for governor, reported raising $250,000 in the first quarter of the year, but $50,000 of that was his own money.
Honour has contributed $150,000 to his campaign to date.
Honour’s campaign reports raising $850,000 since he announced his campaign last year.
“I am thrilled to have the widespread support that is key in raising the necessary money and making the critical investments to have a winning campaign in November,” Honour said in a statement.
“People in our state are ready for new leadership. My message, as a business leader, of having the state reach its full potential by making it better for everyone is working with Minnesotans who are tired of career politicians.”
Honour led all other Republican candidates in fundraising at the end of 2013. He is the first gubernatorial candidate to report fundraising totals for the 1st quarter.
DFL Gov. Mark Dayton is running for re-election.
