Rainy Tuesday; a shot at 70 Saturday?

We're mining the silver linings this spring. Wintry scenes dominate northern Minnesota. Sawbill Outfitters on Sawbill Lake came in with 15.5 inches of late April snow Monday night. Sidewalks in Grand Marais still have that wintry frosting.

Here's a look at some additional snowfall reports across northeast Minnesota.

Rain moves north

At least it's rain across southern Minnesota. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's NAM 3 km model paints occasional showers across the region Tuesday. Overall rainfall totals between one-quarter and one-half inch look common.

Look for light shower chances again Wednesday night into Thursday, and again late Friday.

Milder late this week

Saturday still looks like the best day of the next week. Plenty of sun and light winds will help boost temps to near 70 degrees across southern Minnesota. Highs in the 60s look to include much of northern Minnesota. Good timing.
