Storms blow through; rare October 70-degree dew poiont

The line of severe storms that tore through the Twin Cities produced a 61 mph wind gust at MSP Airport.

Fairmont recorded a gust to 58 mph.

At least one tree was knocked down in Chanhassen.

Rare 70-degree October dew point

A tropical air mass briefly blew into the Twin Cities Wednesday afternoon. MSP Airport topped out at 79 degrees late Wednesday. The dew point hit 70 degrees.

That's only the 4th time on record the dew point has hit 70 in October in the Twin Cities.

Cold front

The cold front that triggered the storms blows much colder air into Minnesota the next few days. Highs return to the 50s.
