Cool temps linger through the weekend; snow reports from the north
Snow continued into this Friday morning in much of northeastern Minnesota. The snow is expected to mix with rain and then change to all rain at some point this afternoon. Right along the North Shore of Lake Superior, from Duluth to about Silver Bay, they've seen mostly rain overnight and this morning.
Here's the big picture:
Minnesota snowfall reports through 8 a.m. included 2.2 inches in Babbitt and 2 inches in Cook and Grand Portage.
In case you're wondering, the average date of our first 1 inch snowfall in the Twin Cities metro area is Nov. 18.

Sunday rain chance
Saturday and most of Sunday should be dry across Minnesota. The Twin Cities metro area and southeastern Minnesota could see some scattered showers Sunday afternoon, then the rain chance expands over much of Minnesota Sunday night.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential rain pattern Saturday morning through Sunday night:
The color chart to the right of the loop refers to the strength of the signal that returns to the radar, not to the amount of rain.
Parts of northwestern Minnesota could see some snow mixed with the rain overnight Sunday night.
Temperature trends
Roughly the southern half of Minnesota is expected to see highs in the lower 50s this Friday afternoon, with mostly 40s in the north. Some spots in northwestern Minnesota could stay in the 30s.
On Saturday, there will be a lot of highs in the 40s, with lower 50s in the Twin Cities metro area and points to the southeast:
Southern Minnesota should reach the 50s on Sunday, with 40s north:
Twin Cities metro area highs rebound to the lower 60s next Monday and Tuesday.
