Areas of dense fog this morning; thunderstorm chance tonight and Sunday

Light winds allowed the air temperature to drop to the dew point temperature in many locations around Minnesota overnight.

As a result, there are areas of dense fog in parts of Minnesota this Saturday morning.

A dense fog advisory remains in effect for much of Minnesota until 10 a.m.:

After a cool Friday, many of us are ready for some warmer temps.

Saturday afternoon highs will be in the 80s over much of southern and central Minnesota, with some 70s in the far north:

Thunderstorm chances and severe risk

Scattered thunderstorms are possible over northern and central Minnesota overnight Saturday night.

On Sunday, all of Minnesota will have a chance of occasional scattered thunderstorms.

A severe thunderstorm will be possible in central and northern Minnesota overnight:

The Twin Cities metro area is included in the marginal risk of severe weather on Sunday, which means that an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible.
