A cool and dry Sunday; flakes for some areas Monday afternoon
We're back to central standard time, which is great for meteorologists.
Upper air balloons are released worldwide twice a day.
When we're on daylight saving time, those upper air readings are taken just before 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. in our time zone.
Now that we're back on central standard time, our upper air data and the computerized forecast models that use that data both arrive one hour earlier.

I've already had a chance to look at this morning's run of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's North American Mesoscale forecast model!
It shows a dry Sunday and early Monday for most of Minnesota.
The NAM forecast model shows that snow will move into west-central Minnesota and parts of southwestern Minnesota Monday afternoon, and then spread eastward:
Eastern Minnesota and the Twin Cities metro area could see some flakes late Monday afternoon into Monday night.
Snow amounts aren't expected to be huge, but some slick roads are possible late Monday and Monday night.
Cloudy November
We've had a lot of cloudy days lately.
November is typically our cloudiest month of the year in the Twin Cities, with an average of only 39% of possible sunshine:
By January, we're up to 53% of possible sunshine.
The sunniest month in the Twin Cities metro area is typically July, with an average of 72% of possible sunshine.
Temperature trends
Our Sunday highs happened shortly after midnight, and most Minnesotans will see nearly steady to slowly falling temps Sunday afternoon.
Lows Sunday night are expected to be in the teens over most of northern and central Minnesota, with lower 20s south.
Highs Monday will be mostly in the 20s north, with some lower 30s south:
Tuesday is chilly too, with highs in the 30s southeast and 20s elsewhere:
Twin Cities highs are expected to stay in the 30s on Wednesday, with lower 40s Thursday and Friday.

Now that daylight saving time has ended, our sunsets will be earlier.
Sunset is at 4:55 p.m. CST in the Twin Cities today.
According to the U.S. Naval Observatory our earliest sunsets in Minneapolis are at 4:32 p.m. CST, from December 3 through December 15.
