Some Sunday night thunder; rain to snow Monday
Southern and central Minnesota, and western Wisconsin, will see some periods of rain with a few imbedded thunderstorms Sunday night.
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a slight risk of severe thunderstorms over east-central and southeastern Minnesota and much of western Wisconsin Sunday night:

Rain to snow Monday
On Monday, the circulation around a low pressure system over Wisconsin will spread cold air over Minnesota.
Many locations in Minnesota will see their Monday high temps before sunrise, with falling temperatures during the day.
Rain is expected early Monday over much of eastern Minnesota.
The rain changes to snow over parts of central and northeastern Minnesota Monday morning, then periods of snow continue into Monday afternoon.
Parts of central Minnesota could see about 2 to 3 inches of snow on Monday, and 4 to 6 inches of snow could accumulate in Hinckley and Duluth:

MONDAY...
The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 9 AM to 7 PM
CDT Monday.
* LOCATIONS...East central Minnesota and much of northwest
Wisconsin, including the interstate 35 and highway 53 corridors.
* TIMING...mid morning Monday into Monday evening.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 to 5 inches.
* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* IMPACTS...Snow or slush covered roads will create slick road
conditions, especially bridges, overpasses, ramps, other
elevated surfaces, and secondary roads. Snow will also be heavy
and wet, and will likely cling to trees and power lines.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A winter weather advisory for snow means that accumulating snow
is expected to cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow and
slush covered roads and reduced visibility. Slow down, allow for
extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, and
use caution while driving. Allow extra time to reach your destination.
The Twin Cities metro area could see periods of rain Monday morning, then the rain could mix with snow by around noon Monday.
Some periods of snow or rain mixed with snow are possible Monday afternoon in the Twin Cities, and a bit of snow accumulation is possible on grassy areas in the Twin Cities metro.
Any snow that accumulates will melt as temperatures rebound on Tuesday.
