Normal temperatures; chance of rain-snow
The winter storm warning expired at 7 a.m. for northeastern Minnesota. Some roads will remain slippery in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin today, so allow extra travel time in those areas.
Northern Minnesota saw some impressive snow amounts from the storm:
12.3 inches 21 miles north of Grand Marais
12.0 inches in Cook
11.5 inches 2.5 miles north of Silver Bay
11.0 inches in Finland
9.7 inches at Two Harbors
8.7 inches at Duluth airport
7.2 inches in International Falls

St. Patrick's Day extremes
March 17 can bring us just about any kind of weather in the Twin Cities.
Here are the extremes:
80 (2012) warmest high temp, also set the record for earliest 80 degree reading in any year
-8 (1941) coldest low temp
11.2 inches (1965) Most new snow ever recorded on St. Patrick's Day.
Occasional rain/snow showers are possible in the Twin Cities today, with no snow accumulation expected.
Ice out Lake Minnetonka
The Hennepin County Sheriff"s office tweeted the following just after midnight:
The earliest ice out date ever observed for Lake Minnetonka was March 11, 1878.
Ice out was declared yesterday at White Bear Lake, their earliest ice out in records dating back to 1928.
Normal temps through weekend
Highs this weekend will be much cooler than last weekend, but very close to normal:
We could see some rain-snow showers at times on Saturday, but Sunday looks dry. Lows the next few mornings will be in the 20s.
Temps finally reach 50 next Tuesday.
