A taste of December with accumulating snow and colder temperatures
Christmas Day temperatures were relatively mild for the season and snow that fell in parts of central and northern Minnesota accumulated generally less than an inch. An inch(1.1) was reported at Moose Lake, in Carlton County, Minnesota.
Travel conditions deteriorate this evening. Accumulating snow and colder temperatures will make it look and feel more like December.
The winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service calls for accumulations of generally 2 to 5 inches.

Shortly before 6 a.m. CST a narrow band of light snow was depicted by radar through central Minnesota. This light precipitation was not associated with the system that is expected to develop heavier snow later today for a large swath of the central United States.
