More storms on tap after parts of MN soaked Saturday
Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms dumped heavy rain on portions of central and southern Minnesota in the past 24 hours. Victoria, west of the Twin Cities, picked up 4.23 inches of rain. Three and a half inches of rain fell in Chaska.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport reported 2.71 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. The National Weather Service Office located in Chanhassen checked in with nearly three 3 inches as of 7 a.m. this morning.
Very little precipitation has accumulated in southeast Minnesota, with barely more than a trace at Rochester.

A repeat of showers and thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon and tonight. Severe storms with large hail are possible in southwest Minnesota.
A flash flood watch remains in effect until 1 p.m. on Tuesday for much of Minnesota. Track developing weather from the National Weather Service.

Once again, be prepared to take shelter indoors if lightning is seen and thunder is heard. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
This interesting experimental forecast for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Rapid Refresh Model for 7 p.m. depicts the potential for lightning as a cluster of thunderstorms forms later today.
