Monday 80s, but fall weather arrives late this week

September's summer swan song is here. Our balmy September goes out about +5 degrees vs. average this month. After a rough spring, we got two Augusts this year. Payback for a reluctant spring.

Today will feel more like July or August 30th than September 30th. This looks like the last 80 degree day for the foreseeable future so get out and enjoy our summer like breezes.

Thursday's cold front will get your attention bu this weekend. In fact, the season's first significant looking fall storm winds up near Denver Thursday, and plows toward the Twin Cities by the weekend. We could see 3 days of rain showers, Thursday right into Saturday. The good news? A few waves of good soaking rain could add up to 1 to 2+ inches in a big chunk of the Upper Midwest by Saturday.

If the GFS is right...Saturday could feature a raw northwest wind and temps in the 40s...with lows in the 30s by Sunday morning. This could be a wet and cold Twin Cities Marathon this year.
