I’m fine with normal

First week in September places Minnesota in an area that favors about normal.

We used to say in the weather lab, the weather is seldom normal. The average temperatures are a mixture of the extremes. But it looks like the odds will favor a trend that puts our daytime highs and nighttime minimums close to the 30-year average temps for the first week in September. For the Twin Cities that range would be about 75 to 55.

We'll be on the cool side as we close out the meteorological summer of 2009.

Tropical Storm Danny has potential to become a hurricane, with the computer models now taking the center of the storm a little farther northeast during the next three days.
