Minnesota will host the Professional Women's Hockey League draft for 2024 in June. The league announced Saturday that the six teams will make 42 selections in the “State of Hockey.”
Fifteen-year-old senior Girl Scout Illona Delaney, a citizen of Red Lake Nation, was honored with the Bronze Cross for risking her own life to save her grandmother and mother from drowning during a family boating trip last summer. She is the first Indigenous Girl Scout to achieve the honor.

Entries are now being judged, and up to five finalists will be selected. Public voting for the winner will happen May 15-31.
