Two bookish events for a Tuesday evening

Looking for a hot literary debate on a cold evening? I've got not one, but two events to warm up your Tuesday night.

At 6 p.m. you can join MPR's Sasha Aslanian for a conversation about kids' right to read and the suppression of young adult literature. Panelists include Rainbow Rowell, author of Eleanor & Park, which was recently banned from Anoka County schools and libraries, and Julie Blaha, president of Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota, the district teachers union.

There will also be librarians and teen readers on the panel.  The discussion takes place at Metro State in Founder's Hall auditorium.

At 7 p.m. you can join me at Micawber's Books for a look at how our reading has changed in a high-tech world. Joining me will be Chris Fischbach of Coffee House Press, Patrick Thomas of Milkweed Editions, Katie and Guy Eggers of Thirty Two Magazine, Star Tribune books editor Laurie Hertzel and Micawber's co-owner Hans Weyandt.
