Stadium oversight chair gets $25K raise

Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen got a 25 percent raise today.  Her new salary will be $127,000, up from $102,000.

“[We] felt that that compensation did not fully recognize the role and responsibility of the chair,” MSFA Commissioner Bill McCarthy said.

Kelm-Helgen previously served as deputy chief of staff to Gov. Mark Dayton, who appointed her to chair the authority in 2012.

The other four commissioners can be paid at most $55 per meeting, plus expenses, according to the law that created the stadium authority.

MSFA Executive Director Ted Mondale earns $160,325 — 2 percent more than when he first took the job a year and a half ago.
