This is why one guy bought Metrodome seats

34-year-old Nick Magistad of Forest Lake picks up first four Metrodome seats for $60 each on January 3, 2014 in Minneapolis.

"I'm building a cabin this spring so I figured it would be nice to have some seats available for parties," said Nick Magistad, 34, of Forest Lake. He bought four of the 61,00 Metrodome seats that Albrecht Sign Co. of Fridley is selling.

Magistad's seats cost $60 each. He was one of the people who drove cars and trucks on to the Metrodome's field to pick up their piece of football history.

Magistad said it's a bit difficult for him to say goodbye to the Vikings home for 32 seasons.

"I had season tickets for a long time for a lot of the teams so it's tough to see it go but I'm looking forward to the future," said Magistad.

Albrecht Sign Co.  said more than 8,000 of the seats have been purchased.
