How the University of Minnesota might respond to a mass shooting

emergency training scene

Take a look at a KSTP report if you’re curious about how a university trains for one of its biggest nightmares.

The University of Minnesota staged a scenario this morning that had emergency personnel responding to two “shooters” inside the Regis Center for Art.

It was designed to involve campus police, city and county law enforcement — even the FBI — among others.

But an emailed U announcement had this warning for the overly curious:

It is not a public viewing event and individuals loitering around the perimeter of the Regis Center will be asked to leave to ensure that emergency responders can focus on the exercise.

KSTP said it was the largest such training event the U has held.
