In opening statements at a trial in Washington County today, the attorney said top Globe executives ignored Heidi Weber’s repeated complaints about what she saw. He said the company misled prospective students about such things as job-placement rates and externships.

Globe fired Weber in 2011. She filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the Woodbury-based school in April 2012.

An attorney for the school told jurors Weber was a failed manager who had received many staff complaints.  The company engaged in no unethical practices, the attorney said, and called Weber’s complaints just a sign that she was struggling in her job.

The trial continues this week.
