How the Citizens League sees the MN Dream Act’s prospects

I asked the question about what was up with the Dream Act in my previous post.

I just got this link from Larry Schumacher, communications manager at the Citizens League, which is backing the bill.

It give us his organization's understanding of where things are.

Here's the meat:

We are at a critical point to pass the MN Prosperity Act (aka the Dream Act). Efforts have stalled in the House, as a higher education committee hearing on the bill was left unfinished.

On Monday April 22, Sen. Sandy Pappas, author of SF 723, will bring the bill as a stand alone in the Senate finance committee, so that it goes to the Senate floor for a vote.

Then our efforts will go to ask the Conference Committee to include it in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.
