Who was named prez to Anoka campuses and Southwest MN State
While I was off yesterday, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system decided to appoint a couple of presidents: Kent Hanson to Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College; and Connie Gores to Southwest Minnesota State University.
The Albert Lea Tribune says Hanson will succeed president Terry Leas, who took a job in Washington State.
The Marshall Independent says Gores will succeed Dr. Ron Wood, who is serving his second year as interim president, and Dr. David Danahar, who was President at SMSU for 10 years

Hanson:
Kent Hanson has served as interim president of Riverland Community College since August, 2012. Prior to Riverland, Hanson served nine years as provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at Northland Community and Technical College. His previous experience also includes 12 years at Northwest Technical College, where he served as radiology program director from 1991-99 and health and human services dean from 1999-2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota, and a master’s degree in Human Resource Administration from Central Michigan University.
Gores:
Gores has served at Winona State University since 2007 as the vice president for student life and development and as interim president during the summer 2012. She brings with her considerable experience in higher education administration and student services from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Cornish College of the Arts, Willamette University College of Law, and Willamette University College of Law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from North Dakota State University, a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Colorado State University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, Higher Education Administration from the University of Washington.
