MSU-Moorhead still trying for Division I hockey team

MSU-Moorhead Athletic Director Doug Peters is trying to squelch rumors that the university has dropped its bid to start a Division I hockey team in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The association reports that Moorhead has collected $17 million of the $29.6 million goal that would get them in, and The Advocate writes the deadline is the end of February. Peters tells the paper:

“A lot of things are going to happen in the next five weeks, so it will be hard to predict where we’re going to be. I’m sure at the end of February we’ll sit down and evaluate where we’re at.”
