Why Tom Emmer is upset with Hamline University

Obviously, this was extremely disappointing to me, but I was even more disappointed by what (business dean Anne McCarthy) told me next...incredibly, because of my conservative political views I will not be allowed to teach business law to Hamline students.

-- Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer in a letter to Hamline University President Linda Hanson -- reported in the Pioneer Press-- saying the university had gone back on an agreement for him to be "executive in residence" at its business school this semester.

Part of the dispute is whether the two parties ever had a real agreement, and whether faculty opposition over his politics played a role.
