How much foreign students contribute to the state economy

Minnesota's 12,000 foreign students and their families contribute a net of $302.5 million to the state economy during the 2010-11 year, according to a report announced today by the National Association of Foreign Student Educators.

The top three institutions, according to money generated:

University of Minnesota - Twin Cities: $120 million

St. Cloud State University: $27 million

Minnesota State University - Mankato: $15 million
