What skills and education are necessary for today's students?
If you haven't read or heard about it already, MPR will be hosting a free higher-education forum tomorrow called "Tomorrow's College" -- based on an American RadioWorks documentary series by that name -- about what skills and education (a year? two years? four?) are necessary to compete in today's tough economy.
American RadioWorks’ Stephen Smith joins his guests:
Kevin Kopischke, the President of Alexandria Technical and Community College;
Dr. MaryAnn Baenninger, the President of the College of Saint Benedict; and
Art Rolnick, former director of research at the Minneapolis Fed and now a senior fellow at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute.
(I'll be sitting on the sidelines and chiming in on occasion.)
The event will be held at 7:00 at the UBS Forum at Minnesota Public Radio headquarters. 480 Cedar Street in downtown St. Paul.
