St. Cloud State University moves toward tobacco ban

Like a smoker ramping down their cigarette puffing in an effort to quit, St. Cloud State University will spend the next year moving toward an all out tobacco ban.

The St. Cloud Times today reports on how SCSU will phase in a tobacco ban that starts a year from today.

Between now and August 1st of 2012, smokers will need to find one of 21 designated areas on campus to light up.  Next year the only smoking allowed on campus will be in Native American ceremonies, for research purposes or in theatrical presentations.

SCSU is not banning smoking in personal vehicles.
