Here’s a neat little feature for those who can’t make graduation.
The University of Minnesota’s medical school is live-streaming its 2:30 p.m. graduation today on Facebook.
Spokesman Nick Hanson wrote me:
This allows people to chat and interact with others underneath the video stream. It’s kinda neat since you can see who is listening in. People ask a lot of questions during the ceremony and commencement, so we’ll have a moderator who will be answering.
Hanson said that when the school live-streamed the ceremony last year (though not on Facebook), about 200 people from across the globe watched.
He told me:
We’re expecting more this year since we’ve been promoting internally and all of the med students have been letting their friends and family from across the country know.
(The ceremony is at 2:30, but coverage begins at 2:15.)
