Iowa state bill would sell university's Pollock masterpiece

Sean O'Harrow, director of the University of Iowa's art museum, reacts in Good Magazine to a state bill calling for the cash-strapped university to sell its internationally known Jackson Pollock work, Mural 1943, so it can establish a scholarship fund that would generate $5 million a year:

"It's like selling your grandmother. I don't think you can sell your culture. Doing such a thing would only give ammunition to those people who criticize our state as a place where we don't respect or appreciate culture. There is no way that can happen."
