Big day at the Capitol Wednesday

Lots going on in higher ed tomorrow:

1) Students are rallying over tuition. (See the video above.)

  • 10:00 a.m. (at the latest): Arrive at Saint Paul College

  • 10:30 a.m.: Introductory remarks and prepare for the march

  • 11:00 a.m.: March to the Capitol

  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Rally on Capitol steps

  • 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.: Reception at Saint Paul College & meetings with lawmakers

2) The Senate committee on higher education will be discussing the tuition freeze bill.

S.F. 268-Carlson, J.: Minnesota state colleges and universities (MnSCU) and university of Minnesota temporary freezing and permanent tuition increase limitations.

3) Legislators will discuss recommended candidates for the open positions on the University of Minnesota Board of Regents
