St. Cloud State student is head honcho in small community

St. Cloud State finance senior Kent Koch is the new mayor of Loretto (pop. 600) at the tender age of 23, the Star Tribune reports:

"I don't think that age really has anything to do with this type of position," the lifelong Loretto resident said. "I think it's more based on good communication and leadership qualities."

Koch's previous municipal experience included mowing city lawns and preparing baseball fields. He decided to run for the part-time job because he figured he was qualified. Plus, no one else was interested.

He might have been a heck of a political science major. Extra credit, anyone?
