Man drops handgun at MCTC

Got this from Minneapolis Community and Technical College regarding an incident yesterday.

At approximately 12:50 PM ... a Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) student contacted the MCTC Public Safety Department to report that she witnessed someone drop what appeared to be a handgun from his clothing in the plaza of the T Building and flee the building.  The plaza location is under video surveillance, and the Public Safety Department was able to confirm that what appeared to be a handgun had been dropped. Shortly thereafter, through video surveillance and foot patrol, the campus public safety officers located the individual, who was turned over to the Minneapolis Police Department.

The college vigorously enforces its policy prohibiting the possession or use of unauthorized firearms or other dangerous weapons on college property.

The guy was reportedly released because police couldn't find the actual gun.
