Flooding disrupts Gustavus-bound traffic

Drivers to Carleton College aren't the only ones affected by flooding. Gustavus Adolphus College and its newspaper, The Gustavian Weekly, both have advisories on how people get around the flooding to campus.

"One of the big problems is that you can't get across the Minnesota River for quite a ways," said Tom Lany, web editor at The Gustavian Weekly and the student photographer who shot the photo above. "There aren't many routes to get across."

Matt Thomas, Gustavus' media relations manager, said Twin Cities commuters should budget twice the normal time for the drive. His commute from Shakopee, normally about 45 minutes, took more than an hour and a half today.
