Duluth students being housed in motel

In late July we saw how the University of St. Thomas was having to do some creative arranging to create more housing for a surplus of freshman.

Now Duluth is having its share of problems in that department.

The solution: The Best Western Edgewater.

It's now home to 122 students from the University of Minnesota - Duluth and 30 from St. Scholastica. Both have piled students into there before.

Each student shares a room with another student, has shuttle service to campus, has use of the motel's facilities, and access to resident advisers and programming, just like in dorms. They even have a Facebook page.

Fear not, parents: Out of nine TripAdvisor reviews, the place gets eight "very good" or "excellent" reviews.

According to the Duluth News Tribune:

"We make sure they know they're equally as important as any other student," Eltink said.

But do they get maid service?
