Police department confronts heroin epidemic with lip sync video

Perhaps you’ve seen the cute Facebook challenge to police departments across America to record a lip-syncing video. It was an effort to humanize the cops.

An endless string of mostly uninspiring efforts followed.

But in Georgia Michigan, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office realized the opportunity to make a point about the scourge so few people want to confront.

It lip-synced to Demi Lovato’s “Sober” and released the video over the weekend.

We have a winner. (View on Facebook)

While I appreciate the other lip sync videos that were done, this one is hands down my favorite. What an awesome use of their platform to address a terrible issue in our society. Way to go!

This is actually the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office in southeastern Michigan (hence the reference to Detroit and Aretha Franklin).
