In Calgary, nothing says love like a rock

You know humans have a bottomless supply of love and compassion when they stoop to help a rock.

The Sage Hill Rock in Calgary, to be precise, the one that became an Internet “thing” when the CBC first reported that it seemed to attract drivers, as if that was the rock’s fault.

The rock paid the price for the actions of drivers; it was unceremoniously dumped behind a shopping center.

Until the Internet found out.

It loved it like a rock.

“It’s been fun to watch as the community comes together in support of this rock, and against the rock,” Brangwyn Jones, whose Facebook group called attention to the rock’s plight, tells Toronto Metro.

The CBC reported on Friday that fans of the rock convinced the shopping center to let them take the rock to a place where it can live it out its days.

It now rests next to a Little Free Library in the neighborhood, where SUVs can no longer abuse it.
