In hurricane zone, man gives up the last generator

Here’s your daily dose of sweetness:

In Florida, the people who aren’t evacuating are preparing to withstand whatever Hurricane Irma has planned for them.

That includes Pam Brekke, of Sanford, who drove 30 miles to a Lowe’s when she heard the store was getting a shipment of 216 generators.

Her father needs power for his oxygen.

But Brekke was the 217th person who showed up at the store.

Number 216 was Ramon Santiago, who had the last generator.

Until he gave it to Brekke.

“She needs the generator,” Santiago told WFTV-TV. “It’s OK.”

The models look horrific for Florida. And for someone to give up a generator knowing what’s coming, here’s hoping that karma exists

There are heroes among us as Ramon Santiago proves. He chose to be the better man.

There is nothing more frightening than not being able to breathe. Hopefully Pam’s father’s supplier has also provided large, portable oxygen tanks as well. This is standard procedure for patients who are dependent on oxygen.

Now she just has to worry about getting the fuel to run the generator. Hopefully there is a gas station close to her that has not been drained dry by evacuees fleeing Irma.

God, please help those who were not able to evacuate for whatever reason.

    Ramon,
Wishing you and all your neighbors the best. It is acts like this that makes it hard to bet against humanity.
