Manchester bombing claimed a good son

Let’s consider the goodness and decency that disappeared from the planet the other night when the bomb exploded at the concert in Manchester.

Martyn Hett is one of the dead.

He became Internet famous in December because he loved his mother.

His mother had set up a stall at a craft fair, but she didn’t sell anything. She was, he reported, sad, and he was heartbroken for her.

So Martyn tweeted about it and pretty soon his tweet went viral. The Internet started buying her crafts, BuzzFeed reported at the time.

The Internet cleaned her out.

“She sews/knits for therapeutic reasons,” Martyn told BuzzFeed in December . “She’s a counsellor and she believes that being creative is good for the soul – it’s advice she often gives to her clients.”

The money she raised, thanks to her son, was donated to a counseling center.

Mr. Hett was 29.

“He left the world exactly how he lived, centre of attention,” his partner tweeted.
