Dying wish granted, dad sees son get a diploma

The commencement ceremony for a University of Minnesota student is the very definition of bittersweet.

U of M engineering student Collin Brown got his diploma yesterday after university president Eric Kaler agreed to hold the ceremony early so that Brown’s dad could see his son get a diploma.

Ken Brown, of Champlin, was diagnosed with ALS in his son’s freshman year and he’s not expected to live until the U’s regular commencement.

This is what grace looks like.
