Even Bill Murray can’t save health care

With no pathway toward keeping it around, the health insurance law that has provided millions of Americans with insurance coverage is history.

So the timing of the White House’s video touting the website where people can shop for health insurance is a little like John Belushi’s last attempt to rally his beaten frat brothers in Animal House.

But as a “bit,” it’s got legs.

  • Rob Levine

Hate to nitpick, but there’s a wide gulf between “health insurance” and “health care.” One is a financial product.

  • Robert Moffitt

File Under: I’ve got that goin’ for me, which is nice.

“With no pathway toward keeping it around, the health insurance law that has provided millions of Americans with insurance coverage is history…”

So it would seem. But with no pathway toward a replacement, the same party calling for the ACA’s immediate end may find reason to pause. Who knows?

It’s Washington. Stranger things have happened.

    • Tim

It was easy to campaign against it and push for repeal when it had no chance of actually happening and they didn’t have to deal with the consequences. Now, though, it’s a different story.

      • Robert Moffitt

Heh. Elections DO have consequences, after all.

    • jon

Repeal ObamaCare replace it with RomneyCare, or TrumpCare, or CareBear!

It’ll be easy to implement because all the provisions were in the ACA.

So long as we can show America that we don’t owe anything to Obama or the democrat leftists tree hugging bleeding hearts, and we owe everything to the republican supermensch who saved us from the tyranny of what ever the leftists were going to do!

  • Rob

Yup; nobody does “ready, fire, aim” as well as the Republican Congress.

  • Jeff

If we like our Bill Murray can we keep it?

    • Robert Moffitt

You can have Bill Murray every day, but only in Punxsutawney.

      • wjc

I see what you did there. Nice.

    FWIW, Bluto's speech DID work.

    • Did you say “over” ?

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Otter gets the credit in my book. Nobody perked up until he pulled himself off the couch.

    • Robert Moffitt

Bluto also went on to become a U.S. Senator. They didn’t say which party, but we can speculate.

      • Jack Ungerleider

But it was the 70s and politically things were still a bit more fluid then. 8^)
