NewsCut on the radio

I’m in the radio business for one last day today, filling in for Tom Weber on MPR News.

In the first segment at 11, we’ll talk about the Minneapolis Bike Coalition report — which I wrote about here — on biking while black. Guests will be Melody Hoffman, who wrote the report; and Anthony Taylor, a member of the League of American Bicyclists Equity Advisory Council and the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota.

In the second segment, Greta Kaul, the data reporter at MinnPost will be by to talk about the amount of outside money flowing into legislative races this year.

I love that we have a Major Taylor chapter here. I know they started one of their rides from our parking lot, located in the heart of old Rondo.

On the second topic, there was a report on MSNBC last night that the soon to be former President will team up with his good friend, the former Attorney General, to run a campaign to flip as many state legislatures to the Democrats in 2020. The goal being to undo some of the extreme gerrymandering of the 2010 redistricting process. Some of the money may be coming from like minded groups that are getting an early start on the process.

Nice job…they were great conversations. Would like to hear more of you on the air. I think you ask exceptional questions that generate thoughtful, informative answers. Can you come back tomorrow, and the next day…?
