Last week, the nation was charmed by a Gainesville, Fla., police officer who let kids be kids when he was responding to a complaint that they were making too much noise. The kids were African-American. Officer Bobby White is white.
The officer lost his short pick-up game but he promised he’d return with “backup.”
At a meeting of police officers to try to put together a squad to take on the kids, a ringer showed up.
O’Neal asked the Gainesville Police Department not to tell the media what he was doing until after the event.
