Too ill to travel? Dad makes it to daughter’s wedding

Here’s your daily dose of sweetness.

Andre Pearson, 61, of Omaha, Neb., has been a patient at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., since March. He has serious heart problems and has been too sick to leave. His kidneys have also been failing.

According to Mayo, it was thought when he arrived that he had about a year to live and he didn’t qualify for a heart transplant.

After several surgeries, he might be able to go home soon, and he’ll be re-evaluated for a transplant.

In the meantime, his daughter was to be married last Saturday in California. So his caretakers set him up for dialysis on Friday, and again on Sunday when he returned.

Because he made it there.

Pearson is the brother of former Dallas Cowboys receiver Drew Pearson, whose “Hail Mary” catch in 1975 kept the Vikings from a Super Bowl.
