You’ll be seeing and hearing more of Garrison Keillor in the coming weeks. The humorist, normally a pretty reticent sort except between and 5 and 7 p.m. on Saturdays, is pushing a new book at the same time he’s observing the 40th anniversary of his show.
After leading everyone to believe he would retire a few years ago, Keillor reversed himself and tells the Associated Press he’ll keep working.
This morning on CBS This Morning, reporter Jamie Wax made an important observation. What Keillor does goes against everything the industry says you should do.
The night Garrison Keillor consoled a grieving state (NewsCut).
About the blogger
Bob Collins retired from Minnesota Public Radio in 2019 after 12 years of writing NewsCut and pointing out to complainants that posts weren’t news stories. A son of Massachusetts, he was a news editor 1992-1998, created the MPR News regional website in 1999, invented the popular Select A Candidate, started several blogs, and every day lamented that his Minnesota Fantasy Legislature project never caught on.
