Many politicians bring family members into their political ads but most strike out.
Carl Sciortino, a Democratic state representatives running for Congress in Massachusetts, isn’t one of them.
Sciortino’s ad with his father is about as hot as an ad gets right now.
Sciotino is also gay, but that didn’t come up in the ad. It didn’t need to. He says telling his father that he is a liberal was a bigger deal to the old man than telling him he’s gay.
The elder Sciotino doesn’t face any conflict about whether to vote for a guy who doesn’t share his views. He doesn’t live in the district.
