Minnesota taxpayers to build Millennium Falcon

Look quickly at this picture…

Does it look familiar?

(Insert your Vikings stadium joke here.)

  • David

    Never tell me the odds.

  • James

It’ll make point five past lightspeed. It may not look like much, but it’s got it where it counts, kid.

  • That’s no stadium. It’s a space station.

  • Jim Shapiro

Does Dayton play the roll of Obi Wan Kenobi or Darth Vader?

  • BenCh

(since no one else has yet…)

    IT’S A TRAP!!!

  • Shane

Great, kid! Now don’t get to Favre-y!

  • Jim G

    Great, kid. Don’t get cocky!

  • John O.

I would opt instead for it looking more like the side of a Borg cube.

“Resistance is futile. We will assimilate you.”

  • “This deal is getting worse all the time! ”

  • Susan W

    It’s not my fault!

  • “You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.”

  • Egon Humenberger

Gambling money subsidies for millionaires and billionaires but not for education. The roman circus and dumbing down are well and alive.

  • kennedy

The deal has not passed the legislature.

“I think you overestimate their chances.”

  • JSK

Bob, thought you might like to know that I caught Ted Mondale on Pat Reusse’s radio show (a bit past noon) and they were peppering him with questions about stadium placement and other design stuff. Might be worth a listen assuming the entire show is made available for streaming/download later today (and you can put up with Reusse’s speech patterns… LOL).

  • Kim E

I love how many “Star Wars” quotes are here. Bob- Your News Cut readers….we’re all a big bunch of nerds.

  • Rachel C

I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

  • Bob Collins

// we’re all a big bunch of nerds.

My ability to put food on the table depends on it.

  • Justy

Zygi Calrissian: “The Aluminum…err…Millenium Falcon?! That wasn’t part of the deal!”

Darth Dayton: “I am altering the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further!”

This is the best distraction from work EVER:)

  • Jeff

Bob: “Note to self: When ever I need to get more hits, post something about Star Wars. That’ll get ’em commenting!”

  • Jim G

“This is not the stadium you are looking for…”

  • This taxpayer unit has a bad motivator.

It all depends on who paid for his campaign funding.

  • General Jim

Any attack made by the Rebels against this stadium would be a useless gesture, no matter what technical data they have obtained. This stadium is now the ultimate power in the universe! I suggest we use it!

  • You know, that little stadium is going to cause me a lot of trouble.

  • tboom

This is some stadium rescue, you came in here but you didn’t have a plan for financing it? Into the garbage chute fly-boy!

  • V

Geez, I’m out of it for a little while, and everyone has delusions of grandeur.

  • I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of taxpayer voices suddenly cried out in frustration and were suddenly ignored. I fear something terrible has happened.

  • jon

Aren’t you a little short for a stadium?

  • This is NOT lucy

I suggest they legalize Cannabis and with the revenue and economic stimulus generated from that small motion of legalizing…

    and only

    a stadium.

  • kennedy

NOT Lucy: That post was off topic.

This is not the blog you’re looking for.

  • Mark Dayton: Afraid I was gonna build a stadium without giving you a goodbye kiss?

MN taxpayers: I’d just as soon kiss a Wookiee.

  • this is NOT lucy

    @ kennedy

    (blog police?)

ok, then, I’ll make a funny:

“Hey, maybe we can fund the stadium

through sucking more revenue out of the government like charter schools and ‘non-profits’ that service them do? We can word the new bill with just the right wording to allow for all kinds of criminal-minded loop holes.”

It’s a win-win in that it will allow for one more step closer to privitization!
