It was a surprise to Twin Cities residents last month that St. Paul was even nominated as a romantic getaway destination. The weather has been rather inhospitable.

Well, the votes are in, and today, St. Paul was named “Best Romantic North American Getaway” by the 10best division of USA Today Travel today.

The city beat out 19 other cities, like Savannah, Ga., and Santa Fe, N.M., in the month-long voting period, after being nominated by the publication’s staff. The public was asked to vote for the final winner.

Now, Visit Saint Paul is running a giveaway for two people to fly in to St. Paul for a three-day, two-night romantic trip . The winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day. People can enter here.
