The base of the Cathedral of St. Paul will be transformed into an extreme sports mecca again when the daredevil skaters of RedBull Crashed Ice return to the city on Feb. 22, 2014 as part of a winter-long global racing series. Last year, about 90,000 people huddled along the refrigerated course to watch competitors speed, slide, shove and crash their way to the finish line at speeds that sometimes reach 40 mph. Organizers expect an even larger crowd this year. See more of our photos from last year's race here. Get more schedule and competitor details from the Crashed Ice website here.
