Goodhue County boy, 5, dies in skid loader accident
A 5-year-old Cannon Falls Township boy died Thursday after being crushed by a skid loader driven by his great aunt.
The boy, Matthew Mallett, was riding in the bucket of the skid loader, which his great aunt was using to clear the yard of sticks. At about 6:30 p.m., Mallett fell out of the bucket and was crushed, according to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s office.
Emergency responders brought Mallett to the Cannon Falls Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
