Daily Digest: The sun and the salt

Good morning. Hard to believe we've made it to the first Thursday in February already. By my reckoning, we'll gain an hour and 15 minutes of daylight by March 1. Let's take a look at the Digest.

1.Opponents of a proposed solar farm near Marshall will try again to get state regulators to reject it today. (MPR News)

2. All the salt on roads in the winter makes it easier to drive, but it's not good for the water. Road crews are trying to be more careful about how much they use. (MPR News)

3. Minneapolis City Council members temporarily postponed a vote on the reappointment of the city's police chief. (Star Tribune)

4. Donald Trump was gracious in his Iowa concession speech Monday night. By yesterday he was claiming Ted Cruz had won by cheating and threatening to sue to overturn the results. (Politico)

5. As they get set to debate tonight Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are fighting over whether Clinton is "progressive" enough. (Washington Post)
