Daily Digest: Big debate tonight

Good morning. It's Wednesday, and here's your Digest.

1.  The Republican presidential candidates debate tonight at the Reagan Library in California. It's on CNN and they've had their silly countdown clock going for days. But unlike Fox, CNN will be streaming the debate so you can watch it online whether or not you have cable.  So let's go with CNN's preview. (CNN)

2. Like the last debate, there will be an earlier meeting of candidates who didn't qualify for the main event. One expert's advice on how to win the second tier debate  is, "don't go." (Washington Post)
